Vipiana is a Farm on a large estate, property of the Sainati family, since 18th century. The land has been worked in the centuries lod fashion until recent times.
It comprises in part chestnut woods, in part olive groves. There is an orchard with a variety of fruit trees and a kitchen garden.
As was the tradition in medieval times the Farmhouse is situated in the center of the property at a distance from the town. High on the hill it enjoys suberb views of the surrounding countryside.
The spacious Farmhouse provided accomodation for a large family with stables, cellars and extensive storage areas for fodder and crops such as olives, chestnuts and persimens, as well as hay.
The name of the farm originates from the words “ Here it’s flat land” “ vi-piana”, in Italian.
The “Podere Vipiana” is now run by “Azienda Vipiana”.
Beautifully restored, the house now offers hospitality, both as agriturismo and /or as a hostel and can comfortably accomodate small or large groups.
