Activities and Experiences

During the year there are multiple activities for adults and children.

At the moment, and especially during the spring and summer, there are organized excursions open to the general public for experiencing and learning about the surroundings. Outings can be tailored specially for school groups.

All of the activities are designed to introduce the territory and its traditions, promote experiences of country living, and share the simple work of production of the basic needs for daily life. We offer moments of sharing and savoring together the products of our own farm, as well as products from local, specialized producers with whom the farm collaborates.

Our intention is to facilitate an understanding of the principal concepts of the biodiversity of nature, the biodiversity of agriculture, food safety, and also promote sustainable development. We aim to stimulate reflection and behaviors on the part of participants about their dietary choices and their use of natural resources. We highlight in particular, aspects of culture and tradition in daily life in search of the use of local varieties, species both wild and cultivated, whose survival is, sadly, at risk.

Some of the excursions and activities offered include the search for edible plants and their uses, bread making, planting and harvesting of vegetables, beekeeping and the production of honey, meeting and sharing between generations and stories of past rhythms of life, and discovery and use of the forest paths.

The projects, excursions and programs will be published on the website, along with instructions for how to participate.

Two annual highlights open to all:

June
Festival of late spring
After an excursion along a forest path or an old mule track, we reach the hostel where participants will find a snack followed by a choice of practical and cultural activities before a communal dinner.

8 December
Festival of the “olio nuovo”
To open the season of the newly pressed oil and newly ground chestnut flour
